The Role

In this permanent, full-time position, you will work as part of a supportive, tight-knit team where you will be responsible for the administration of the accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions for the business, with guidance from the Financial Accountant.

In this role, you will be responsible for several key functions including:- Preparation and processing of all employee payroll payments
- Processing invoices for payment
- Daily bank / transaction reconciliations
- Performing the daily Accounts Receivable responsibilities, i.e. invoicing, maintenance of repeating invoices, monitoring aged receivables & maintenance of debt collection procedures
- Preparation of banking and records maintenance
- Maintenance and reconciliation of the petty cash fund
- Processing of business payments and credit card management
- Assisting the Financial Accountant with end of month and end of year processes, cashflow forecasting and other reporting requirements
- Other accounts payable, receivable and payroll tasks as required

In addition to these finance critical duties, you will also be responsible for being a reception backup, directing incoming telephone calls, and other general office administration tasks as required.

What you need

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience performing in a similar role, and will have specific experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.  It is essential that you have a high attention to detail and accuracy, are an exceptional multitasker, and have a strong ability to prioritise to meet strict financial deadlines.

In addition to this experience and knowledge, you will also have the following:
- Love the numbers! You will really excel in this position if you have an accounting mindset and commercial awareness
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent telephone manner and customer service abilities
- Are highly motivated and organised with an analytical mindset
- Experience and confidence in using accounting software, experience using Xero will be highly desirable
- Highly proficient in using Windows and Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills
- Tertiary qualifications (TAFE or University) in accounting, administration or another relative discipline would be desirable, but not essential
- Be a genuine team player who enjoys working collaboratively, but can also work successfully autonomously
- Have a positive “can do” attitude and enjoying yourself at work is essential
